I am comfortable with speaking the English language however writing correctly and adhering to the writing process has always been a challenge for me. For once, I never had a clear idea of structuring an essay to reach a valid point. Without structural organization, all the essays I have written so far lacked the impact that good, strong essays usually show. However within this course period, I have obtained many skills that divulges into writing a good, strong essay or any writing pieces for that matter.

I began this course with very basic writing skills; now I have acquired intermediate learning skills through using pre-writing, good grammar knowledge and transition words.

Within the first couple weeks of the course, I was introduced to the idea of prewriting. Prewriting is a rough draft for writers to jot down a working thesis statement along with some topic sentences to support the overall idea of a experience as a writer essay. I would usually brainstorm for a thesis statement and start writing right away. As a result, I would always fumble around for topic sentence ideas until the due date was slowly dawning on me. Looking at my preparation of the 1st personal narrative essay compared to the third research-supported caused Throughout my writing experience I have always struggled with my body paragraphs.

I tend to always have a strong introduction but once I began to go into my first body paragraph I lose my train of thought. One of my main issues is that I get to wordy. Which then leaves me with fragments. I feel that my writing has had a small progression.

Through this class I have learned more writing techniques that have helped me as a writer. One skill that I really liked and plan to use again is making a list. In the list having page numbers and paragraph numbers where I have already highlighted in the book the quotes that I will be using in my essay. It makes things faster and easier to find rather than being stuck looking for a quote. It saved me time when writing my literary analysis, as I was reading the book and saw quotes that I knew would be useful in my essay I simply just wrote down the page number and paragraph number.

As oppose to before, I would just look for quotes as I wrote my essay which would take me longer and was more difficult doing so. In addition, I also now like to always start of my introduction before I began doing my essay, I like to jot down ideas that good and bad experiences as a writer.

Some of the opportunities I have had recently are writing in my Fundamentals to Writing online class. I also keep a journal of my daily activities and thoughts. I think my most experience as a writer essay type of writing would have to be free writing by blogging on social networks such as Facebook.

Writing brings out a variety of emotions in me. I feel anxious sometimes when I write and I tend to have a lot of self-doubt. I will ask questions about how the reader will understand what I am trying to experience as a writer essay. I go over my writing and correct spelling and grammar if needed. When I feel deep emotions whether happy, sad or angry, I try to put those feelings and emotions into words to describe how I feel at that time. This is one of the reasons I love the form of free writing poetry.

My daily journal also seems to help me get these emotions out. I feel very happy when I receive positive compliments on my writing.

For example, before my Aunt passed away, I would write her letters and send her cards on special occasions.

All that I can conclude from the test is I need to improve my English proficiency. I was in the same group with my class rep, Iskandar Azlan, Alia Md Lani experience as a writer essay one of the best speaker in my class, Aishah Ismail. At first, when I assigned to be in their group, I was very nervous. Aishah is the best speaker as she does not even need any text if she is doing the presentation. She got a lot of ideas and can talk spontaneously.

Before this, my faculty held a MUET workshop and it is compulsory for all the students to attend the workshop.
